This week, I continue to work on content for the website. It’s starting to shape up. Check it out for yourself at Home Automation Trends
In addition to creating more content, I take a closer look at my monetization plans and options to reach out to other players in my niche market.
I’ve found 10 similar websites and started reading their blogs. I also joined 3 forums.
From a monetization perspective I plan on using Google Adsense as well as some products reviews from Amazon and ClickBank (I call it the triple swords strategy).
You can read more about Google Adsense and how to earn money with it here .
You may want to read Adsense Terms of Service before putting Adsense on your website. You are not allowed to click on your own adsense ads for instance and many more rules you need to follow.
The beauty with Adsense is that when you put it on your sidebar, it’s viewable on every page on your site therefore no matter how the visitors land on your site, they will see the ads.
Every time they click on your ads, you earn a commission.
When it comes to Clickbank, you need to find reputable products you can promote. You are looking for products that you will feel good about promoting because the quality is good, the support is adequate if something goes wrong, a low refund rate and acceptable commission for the sale.
When picking a product on ClickBank to promote, you need to pay attention the metric called “Gravity” you will see it as “Grav” in the product description.
It stands for gravity and gives an indication of the likelihood of the product converting. The higher the gravity, the more likely the offer will convert and profit!
Once you find a product, to promote it to your site you simply need to add a banner on your website. You either create one or you use one provided by the vendor. You can also write a review about the product, instead promoting it via banner only.
You will apply the same formula to promoting Amazon. Either use banner ads or product reviews.
As for now I will limit myself to Adsense, ClickBank and Amazon as monetization options.
Depending on how these perform, I could explore additional networks such as warriorplus, jvzoo and commission junction.
